I mean, what am I to do there? There is not enough vocal material in the song to properly judge how precise Akylas was (except for the ballad part - which in the provided version does not have any intonational impurities, go figure. I hope it stays that way!). But I will say this: when I first heard this song, it straight up took me on a musical and emotional rollercoaster ride which had the unfortunate after effect that I am now reciting "Φερ’ το μου, φερ’ το μου, φερ’ το, φερ’ το μου, φερ’ το μου, φερ’ το, φερ’ το μου, φερ’ το μου, φερ’ το - Σου είπα φερ’ το" over and over again. It is multilingual to the extreme, implements Greek tonality and, despite sounding like a joke entry, has a really strong message about consumerism and finding happiness packed in a quirky Eurovision way. If the live version together with the staging is as good as now, Ferto has the potential to knock down my current favourite "joke entry", Trenuletul, off its throne. Ναι, ναι! (Heck yeah!) Ελλάδα, έκανες τη σωστή επιλογή. Δώδεκα βαθμοί σε σένα! Προς το παρόν, τουλάχιστον. (Greece, you made the right choice. Douze points to you! For now at least.)

I like this, but the whole formula of it feels almost identical to Cha Cha Cha by Käärijä so I can’t help but to see it as a bit too derivative. Ok, I listen a bit longer and the ballad part was definitely unexpected, but I think my point still stands aside from this.

Best Greek entry ever - first one since 2013 that has been in my top 10
